Orishas is a Cuban hip-hop band formed in 1999 in Paris, blending contemporary rap with traditional Cuban sounds such as son and guaguancó. Their debut album, A lo Cubano (2000), brought Cuban hip-hop to the international stage, followed by acclaimed records like Emigrante (2002) and El Kilo (2005). In 2007, they collaborated with Calle 13 on the track “Pal Norte,” which won the Latin Grammy for Best Urban Song.

After several years on hiatus, the group returned in 2016 and released Gourmet (2018), reaffirming their commitment to social commentary and cultural roots. With over 750,000 albums sold in Europe, Orishas remains a key figure in Latin hip-hop, spreading their message from Havana to the world.
